Working group Meetings & Tours

Working group meetings in 2019 will be held at Community grounds cafe from 5:45pm to 7:00pm on the following dates unless indicated otherwise. The content and agenda for each working group session will be communicated in advance of each date.

  • Tuesday, March 12 - Engraved brick trail working group meeting
  • Monday, March 25 - Naming - counting the ballets from the voting process
  • Wednesday, April 17 - Jobs/Jobs Culture
  • Wednesday, April 24 - Farmers Market/Food Opportunities
  • Saturday, May 18 (2pm-5pm) - Shipping Container tour
    • We will be touring the shipping containers at Whole Foods on 14th, BRASH Coffee and Da Vinci's Donuts. Please see the detailed schedule below which includes times, locations, addresses etc. Since we will be driving to 3 locations, we are encouraging community members carpool.  We will meet at Pittman Park Recreation Center to carpool. Please arrive at Pittman Park between 1:30 PM-1:50 PM as we will leave promptly at 2:00 PM to carpool.

      2:00 PM - departure from Pittman Park heading to Whole Foods (Whole Foods, 22 14th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309)
      2:30 PM - 3:00 PM Whole Foods Shipping Container Tour
      3:00 PM - departure from Whole Foods heading to BRASH Coffee ( BRASH, 1168 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta, GA 30318)
      3:15 PM - 3:45 PM BRASH Coffee Tour
      3:45 PM - departure from BRASH heading to Da Vinci's Donuts (Da Vinci's Donuts Lenox Mall, 3393 Peachtree Rd KI17, Atlanta, GA 30326)
      4:15 PM - 4:45 PM Da Vinci's Donuts, Lenox Mall Tour
      4:45 PM - departure from Da Vinci's heading back to Pittman Park

  • Sunday, July 14 @ 11am - Grant Park Farmers Market Tour
    • 600 Cherokee Ave SE, Atlanta GA 30312 - Meet at the Information Booth at the front entrance
    • Tour will start promptly at 11am, so please arrive early. Parking can be difficult to find as it is street parking
    • All participants will be given a $5 token after signing in. The market also doubles the value of EBT/SNAP, so bring your card if interested

  • Thursday, July 18 @ 6pm - East Atlanta Village Farmers Market Tour
    • 572 Stokeswood Ave. Atlanta, GA 30316 - Meet at the learning garden on Stokeswood Ave.
    • Tour will start promptly at 6pm, so please arrive early. Parking can be difficult to find as it is street parking
    • All participants will be given a $5 token after signing in. The market also doubles the value of EBT/SNAP, so bring your card if interested

    • Please read the directions on how to get there as it is a bit complicated and to plan to arrive at 5:45pm so you will have apple time to find the market. The market is directly on the Beltline in PCM "the Shed". Free parking is available for market shoppers (see website for parking instruction) and each guest to this meeting will be given $5 to spend at the market.
